STEM olympiad prep that goes beyond problem sets

Olympiads reward pattern recognition under time pressure. A mentor builds a practice rhythm and marks solutions the way a coach marks film—not another pile of unmarked PDFs.

Buying another problem book feels productive. Leaving it half unmarked does not. STEM olympiads—math, physics, chemistry, informatics—reward students who can explain a solution cleanly and recover when a problem stalls.

Actify’s STEM Activity Mentoring is coached practice. You work with someone who has competed or taught at a level that makes their notes useful. The deliverable is a practice record and written solutions you can trust, not a certificate for watching theory videos.

Diagnostic before volume

Mentors start with what breaks: algebra speed, geometry diagrams, proof structure, experimental reasoning, coding edge cases. Volume without a diagnosis just repeats the same miss.

Write the solution like someone else must grade it

Contest graders cannot read your mind. We insist on written solutions with clear steps, even when the answer is right. That habit transfers to contest day and to later research or internship work.

Timed sets, then film study

A week might include a timed set, a review session, and a short rewrite of the two problems that leaked the most time. Mentors ask where you hesitated, not only whether you finished.

Where this sits on Actify

Olympiad prep is an Activity Mentoring track. It is not an online internship. If you want lab or research experience with a host, look at research programs or company internships instead of forcing olympiad practice to do that job.

Apply with a target contest

Name the contest and the date if you have them. Matching works better when we know whether you need AMC-style speed, olympiad proofs, or informatics implementation—not a vague “STEM enrichment.”

If a track here matches what you are trying to do, start an application. We reply with fit and timing.
