Our story

About Actify internships and mentoring

Actify connects high school and college students with working professionals—for remote internships and competition mentoring that ends with something real.

Students collaborating with mentors in a pitch room

Actify started from a frustration we kept hearing from students and parents: too many "online internships" are really video libraries with a certificate at the end. Students in Seoul, Singapore, London, and small towns across the US wanted the same thing—a manager who would read their draft, and a project that would actually ship.

We built Actify as a network, not a course catalog. Host organizations bring live projects. Specialists bring competition expertise. Our team handles matching, timelines, and the paperwork so students can focus on the work.

Today students from 30+ countries use Actify for finance and consulting placements, NGO hours, investment pitches, research papers, and essays—always with a person on the other side who does that work for a living.

Why we exist

Real work beats résumé padding

Most students do not need another lecture series. They need someone who already does the job to say, "Here is what good looks like this week—and here is what is missing in your memo."

That standard holds whether you are building a sensitivity model for a finance placement or rewriting the third paragraph of a John Locke essay. We care about workplace quality, not participation trophies.

What we do

Two ways to work with Actify

Choose a remote internship with a host team, or Activity Mentoring that ends when your competition piece is finished.

Remote internships

Four- to twelve-week placements with companies, startups, and NGOs. A host-team manager scopes the project before week one—you are not asked to invent the job on day one.

  • Finance, consulting, investment banking, research, entrepreneurship, and NGO tracks
  • Part-time or full-time hours matched to your school schedule and time zone
  • Certificate of completion and supervisor recommendation letter

Activity Mentoring

One-on-one coaching with a specialist until the competition work is done—a pitch, paper, essay, or model. Not a lecture pass.

  • Investment, entrepreneurship, essay, STEM olympiad, and research-paper tracks
  • Written feedback on drafts—the kind you would get in a workplace review
  • Mentors are assigned on Activity Mentoring tracks only; internships are managed by the host

The network

People who already do the work

Internship hosts include operating teams at companies and NGOs—not actors reading slides. Activity Mentoring specialists include people who have judged, coached, or competed in the events you are targeting.

We match on track, time zone, English level, and the industry or competition you are aiming for. If a placement is too soft or a mentor is not giving real comments, we fix it in matching—not after the semester ends.

How we are different

What you will not find here

01

Scoped before day one

A manager or mentor writes hours, milestones, and what "done" looks like before you start—not after you have drifted for three weeks.

02

Comments, not lectures

Feedback sounds like a workplace: this claim needs a source, this chart is doing too much, this paragraph belongs in the appendix.

03

One bar for both tracks

Internships and Activity Mentoring share the same standard—something a reader can verify, not a line on a list with no story behind it.

04

Documents that hold up

Certificates and recommendation letters come from someone who supervised the work and can describe what you actually shipped.

Process

How a program runs

From matching to the final readout, each track follows the same four steps.

  1. 1

    Match

We place you by track, time zone, English level, and the industry or competition you are aiming for.

  2. 2

    Plan

Your manager or mentor sets weekly hours, milestones, and what a finished project looks like.

  3. 3

    Build

Live sessions plus written comments on memos, decks, code, essays, or models.

  4. 4

    Close

You present, submit to a competition, or finish the internship with a certificate and recommendation.
